Mala Mala Camp is situated amongst shady trees and manicured lawns in the spectacular Sabi Sand Game Reserve, in South Africa. It is set in a low lying region of flat bush country in the Mala Mala Game Reserve.

Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa is known for its excellent diversity of animal species, one of the greatest in Africa. Due to the unfenced border shared between Mala Mala and Kruger National Park, herds of animals migrate unhindered to the Sand River for their daily drink. Mala Mala Game Reserve is home to over 200 species of animals, and many more and rare birds.

How To Get There By Road

Mala Mala Game Reserve is a 5 and a half hour drive from Johannesburg Motorists from Johannesburg should turn left off the N4 at Nelspruit and proceed to Hazyview along the R40 via White River At Hazyview, turn right along the R536 towards Skukuza Paul Kruger Gate for 37.5 kilometres (23.3 miles) At the Mala Mala Game Reserve sign turn left onto a gravel road and follow the Mala Mala Game Reserve road signs to the camp for 29 kilometres (18 miles) There is a vehicle entrance fee into the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, payable on arrival

How To Get There By Air

By Private Aircraft and Charter Flights

The Mala Mala Game Reserve private airstrip boasts an all weather surface and is equipped with aeronautical communication facilities The cost is dependant on the number of guests, type of aircraft requested and flying distance.

By Helicopter

This is the ideal mode of transport for guests arriving at Mala Mala Game Reserve from the numerous mountainous retreats in the Mpumalanga area surrounding the Kruger National Park. While luggage is transported to the camps by vehicle, the helicopter passengers are transported onto the mountainous escarpment in close proximity to Mala Mala Game Reserve for a picnic.

This is followed by a panoramic flight through some of the finest scenery on offer in Southern Africa, including the Blyde River Canyon, Long Tom Pass, God's Window and Bourke's Luck Potholes, after which guests are flown back to Mala Mala Game Reserve in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa in time for the afternoon game drive.

By Scheduled Air Service

South Africa Airlink operates a 29 seater Jetstream 41 turboprop aircraft into the newly refurbished and upgraded Mala Mala Airfield. The service may be booked as with any SAA flights.
